The fruit  is commonly called Aidan fruit (also known as Prekese). Its scientific name is Tetrapleura tetraptera. It’s widely used in West Africa for cooking and traditional remedies.

    Simple Aidan Fruit Drink

    Ingredients

    • 1–2 dry Aidan fruit pods

    • 3 cups water

    • Ginger (optional)

    • Honey (optional)

    Steps

    1. Rinse the pods and break into smaller pieces.

    2. Boil in water for 15–20 minutes.

    3. Strain.

    4. Add ginger or honey if desired.

    5. Drink warm (1 small cup daily).
