Crispy Parmesan Potato Stack

A delicious crispy layered potato bake with a golden Parmesan crust, soft tender layers inside, and a beautiful presentation. Perfect as a side dish for dinner, holidays, or special occasions!

 Ingredients

  • 5–6 medium potatoes, peeled
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning
  • Fresh parsley, optional for garnish

 Instructions

1. Prepare the potatoes
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Thinly slice the potatoes using a sharp knife or mandoline.

2. Make the seasoning mixture
In a large bowl, combine melted butter, olive oil, garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika, and dried thyme.

3. Coat the potato slices
Add the thin potato slices and gently toss until every slice is coated with the buttery seasoning.

4. Build the stack
Grease a small round baking dish or oven-safe pan. Sprinkle some Parmesan cheese on the bottom, then arrange the potato slices in overlapping layers to create a tall stack.

5. Add Parmesan
Sprinkle Parmesan between some layers and generously over the top.

6. Bake
Cover with foil and bake for 35–40 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 20–25 minutes, until the top is deeply golden and crispy and the potatoes are fork-tender.

7. Rest & serve
Let it rest for 5–10 minutes, then carefully remove from the dish. Garnish with parsley and serve warm. 😋
